Call for Candidates for TNIBD Board of Commissioners
Elections for two positions on the TNIBD Board of Commissioners will be held November 14, 2024. Successful candidates will each serve a three-year term.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates must meet all the following necessary qualifications:
1. You must own property within TNIBD; and
2. All your property taxes must be current on any property owned within the TNIBD.
Please be aware that if elected to the TNIBD Board, you will be required annually to complete a one-hour governmental ethics course and one hour of training in avoidance of sexual harassment (both online). You must complete one hour of online cybersecurity training. So far, the cybersecurity training is required only once.
You also must file a Tier 2.1 Personal Financial Disclosure Form with the Louisiana Ethics Board annually. (Additional information regarding these requirements is available at http://ethics.la.gov.)
Candidate Qualifying:
Each candidate who wishes to be included on the ballot must submit a Candidate Qualifying Form. You may request a copy of the form from jfirestone@tnibd.org

The form can be found on the front page of the website and in the Governance section of the Resources tab.
Candidate qualifying closes at 5 PM on October 10, 2024. The Candidate Qualifying Form must be received by that date and time.

Candidate Introductions:
All candidates are invited to give a three-minute address to TNIBD residents and/or property owners at the TNIBD Candidate Forum held via Zoom during the regular meeting of the TNIBD Board of Commissioners that will take place on October 17, 2024, beginning at 6:30 PM.
As a part of their Qualification Form, all candidates are invited to submit a statement of up to 400 words introducing themselves and stating their interest in serving on the TNIBD Board of Commissioners. Your statement will be posted to the TNIBD website, www.tnibd.org, and included in the ballots.
Election:
Balloting closes at 4 PM November 14, 2024.

I declare my intention to be a candidate for the position of Commissioner on the TNIBD Board of Commissioners for the 2024 election.
By signing this form, I certify that I meet all of the following necessary qualifications:
1. I own property within TNIBD; and
2. All property taxes on any property I own within the TNIBD are current; and
3. I am a qualified voter and resident of the TNIBD.
I am aware that all candidates are invited to give a three-minute address to TNIBD residents and/or property owners at the Candidate Forum located at Timberlane Golf & Recreation (or via Zoom) on October 17, 2024, that begins at 6:30 PM.

“Each parcel within TNIBD will receive one ballot. The parcel owner can select up to 2 candidates on the ballot. If more than 2 are selected, the ballot will not be counted.
The candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected to the open TNIBD Commissioner seats and will serve for a three-year term.”

Timberlane Neighborhood Improvement & Beautification District
The Timberlane Neighborhood Beautification and Improvement District (TNIBD) is a special taxing district of the Parish of Jefferson and is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana. TNIBD was created on December 5, 2018 by the Jefferson Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, under and by virtue of the authority conferred by Article 6, Section 19 of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974, Section 2.01 (7) of the Jefferson Parish Home Rule Charter and under House Bill No. 785 of the Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature for the year 2016, enacted as R.S. 33:9099.3.
