Pool Rehabilitation Project in Full Swing

TNIBD has entered into a contract with Southeast Engineers to oversee the assessment and subsequent rehabilitation of its pool facility.

The agreed-upon services include the development of renovation designs and the management of construction activities. Following a competitive bidding process, Francise Horticultural Services, INC. emerged as the selected contractor, distinguishing themselves as the most cost-effective and proficient option among four contenders.

The renovation project officially commenced on February 19, 2024. Assuming no disruptions such as adverse weather conditions or supply chain difficulties arise, the project is anticipated to reach completion by the end of May 2024. The renovation plan encompasses a comprehensive upgrade of the pool’s infrastructure and aesthetics, including:

  • Replacement of plaster, tiles, and coping to ensure durability and enhance visual appeal.
  • Installation of a new concrete deck with a textured finish surrounding the pool.
  • Overhaul of the plumbing system, pool equipment, skimmers, and the integration of LED lighting and modern disinfection technologies to ensure optimal water quality and energy efficiency.
  • Addition of an expansion joint to accommodate temperature-induced expansions and contractions, thereby preventing structural damage.
  • Installation of new starting blocks, ladders, and lifeguard chairs to meet current safety standards and improve functionality.
  • Embedding of new lane marking tiles to facilitate competitive swimming and training activities.

It is important to note that the current phase does not cover the refurbishment of the brick fence encircling the pool, nor does it include new decking in the lounging area nor painting any part of the building adjacent to the pool area. Additionally, the project scope does not extend to the procurement of new pool furniture, patio tables, or umbrellas.

This renovation initiative represents a significant investment in enhancing the quality and safety of the pool facilities, ensuring they meet contemporary standards and provide an enjoyable environment for all users.
